Biographical Note

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has appointed Tapan Mishra of India as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Mongolia, with the host Government’s approval.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has appointed Simon Springett of the United States as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in the Republic of Moldova, with the host Government’s approval.  Mr. Springett will also serve as United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has appointed Zia Choudhury of Bangladesh as the UN Resident Coordinator in Botswana, with the host Government’s approval.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has appointed Roberto Valent of Italy as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Argentina, with the host Government’s approval.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has appointed Françoise Jacob of France as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Serbia, with the host Government’s approval.

The Sixth Committee (Legal) elected Michal Mlynár (Slovakia) Chair on 4 June.  (See Press Release GA/12149.)

The Fourth Committee (Special Political and Decolonization) elected Mohammed Hussein Bahr Aluloom (Iraq) as its Chair on 4 June.  (See Press Release GA/12149.)

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has appointed Birgit Gerstenberg of Germany as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Belize and El Salvador, with the host Governments’ approval.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has appointed Imran Riza of Pakistan as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Syria, with the host Government’s approval.  Mr. Riza will also serve as United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has appointed Ola Almgren of Sweden as the UN Resident Coordinator in Myanmar, with the host Government’s approval.  Mr. Almgren will also serve as UN Humanitarian Coordinator.
