The Secretary-General was deeply shocked and saddened to learn the news of the tragic death of Monsignor Michael Courtney, the Apostolic Nuncio in Burundi, who was brutally murdered during a road ambush today in Minago, about 50 kilometres south of Bujumbura in Bururi province.

GENEVA, 23 December -- Paul Hunt, Special Rapporteur of the Commission on Human Rights on the right to health, has concluded a mission to Mozambique that lasted from 15 to 19 December. The mission took place at the invitation of the Government.
