Mali Panel of Experts Midterm Report Available on 2374 Committee Webpage

On 24 February 2021, the midterm report of the Panel of Experts on Mali, submitted in accordance with paragraph 4 of resolution 2541 (2020), was made available in all official languages on the 2374 Committee’s webpage:  https://www.un.org/securitycouncil/sanctions/2374/panel-experts/reports.

The midterm report highlights the main political and security developments concerning the Agreement on Peace and Reconciliation in Mali and its signatory parties between September 2020 and January 2021.  It provides an update on the implementation of sanctions regime established by resolution 2374 (2017), which consists of a travel ban and an asset freeze that currently apply to eight individuals designated by the Committee as being responsible for or complicit in, or having engaged in, directly or indirectly, actions or policies that threaten the peace, security or stability of Mali.

In accordance with resolution 2541 (2020), the Panel of Experts will submit its final report to the Security Council no later than 15 August 2021.
