Following is the text of UN Secretary-General António Guterres’ video message for Rosh Hashanah, in New York today:

I would like to offer my best wishes to the Jewish people on the occasion of Rosh Hashanah.

To all of you, I sincerely wish L'shanah tovah.  Happy New Year.

May people everywhere enjoy peace and prosperity in the year ahead.

In the spirit of Rosh Hashanah, I hope we can cast away the distrust and disagreements of the past year, and work together for the common good and a better world for all.  Thank you.
