Use Eco Forum Global Annual Conference to Explore Increasing Climate Ambition, Reduce Urban Air Pollution, Secretary-General Encourages China

Following is the text of UN Secretary‑General António Guterres’ video message to China’s tenth Eco Forum Global Annual Conference being held in Guiyang, from 6‑8 July:

I am pleased to greet the Guiyang Eco Forum.

It is encouraging to see that China has incorporated the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Paris Agreement on climate change into national policy.  Climate change is unfortunately moving faster than we are.

I encourage you to use this important Forum to explore how to increase climate ambition, reduce urban air pollution and seize the opportunities of climate action.  The United Nations will continue to work with China and other partners to build a low‑emission, sustainable and resilient future for all.
