New Permanent Representative of Swaziland Presents Credentials

The new Permanent Representative of Swaziland to the United Nations, Melusi Martin Masuku, presented his credentials to UN Secretary-General António Guterres today.

Until his latest appointment, Mr. Masuku was Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2014.  Prior to that position, he served in the ministry as Under-Secretary (Political) from 2013 to 2014, legal adviser from 2006 to 2013 and legal officer from 2005 to 2006.

Between 2004 and 2005, he was a counsellor at the Embassy of Swaziland in Kenya from 2004 to 2005 and was First Secretary for Legal Affairs at the Mission of Swaziland to the United Nations from 1994 to 2004.  From 1993 and 1994, he served as an assistant protocol officer with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Mr. Masuku holds a Master of Arts in liberal studies from St. John’s University in New York and a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts in law from the University of Swaziland.

He is married and has two children.
