New Permanent Representative of Saint Lucia Presents Credentials

The new Permanent Representative of Saint Lucia to the United Nations, Cosmos Richardson, presented his credentials to UN Secretary-General António Guterres today.
Before his latest appointment, Mr. Richardson provided consultancy services between 2012 and 2017, for various organizations in the areas of public policy, policy analysis and strategic planning. Prior to that, he was Cabinet Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister from 2007 to 2012.
With more than three decades of public service, Mr. Richardson was Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, International Trade and Civil Aviation between 2002 and 2007. He served as Permanent Secretary in the Department of Commerce, International Trade, Investment, Enterprise Development and Consumer Affairs from 1997 to 2002, and in the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Physical Planning, Natural Resources and Co-operatives from 1986 until 1997.
Mr. Richardson holds a master’s and a bachelor’s degree in economics, as well as a post-graduate diploma in agricultural and natural resource economics.
