‘Appalled’ Secretary-General Strongly Condemns Spate of Lethal Bombings in Iraq

 

The following statement was issued today by the Spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon:

The Secretary-General strongly condemns the recent spate of terrorist attacks in Iraq, in which scores of civilians lost their lives and hundreds more were wounded.  The Secretary-General is appalled by these outrageous and unjustifiable acts of violence.  He appealsto the people of Iraq to remain steadfast in the wake of such brutal violence and united in their commitment to a path of national reconciliation.
