The Secretary-General is encouraged by the agreement between the Government of Iraq and the Sunni Conference enabling the return of their Conference representatives to Iraq’s constitutional drafting committee.

SECRETARY-GENERAL EMPHATICALLY CONDEMNS HEINOUS SUICIDE BOMBINGS IN IRAQ


The following statement was issued today by the Spokesman for UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan:


The Secretary-General continues to be dismayed by the unrelenting wave of suicide bombings in Iraq that have killed large numbers of civilians, including at least 80 people in Musayyib on Saturday.
