MADRID, 12 April -- The Second World Assembly on Ageing this morning heard speakers address issues of international solidarity, women and the consequences of war for social policies on ageing as it continued its general exchange of views.

Developing countries’ difficult situation, which exacerbated the situation of older people there, was particularly true for countries trapped in cycles of violent conflict, the Vice-Minister for Social Assistance of Angola, Maria Da Luz, told the Second World Assembly on Ageing this afternoon.
