Resolution 1275 (1999) Adopted Unanimously
Acting under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter, the Security Council this afternoon extended the programme of humanitarian assistance to Iraq known as oil for food until 4 December. The programme allows Iraq to sell oil to purchase humanitarian goods for the Iraqi people.

The Security Council this morning reiterated its demand that the parties to the conflict in Abkhazia, Georgia, deepen their commitment to the United Nations-led peace process, in particular, by resuming regular meetings of the Coordinating Council.

The Security Council this morning extended until 15 January 2000 the mandate of the 90 United Nations military liaison personnel deployed to assist the peace process in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
