UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTING RESOLUTION 1370 (2001)

The Security Council this afternoon extended the mandate of the United Nations Mission in Sierra Leone (UNAMSIL) for six months starting 30 September 2001.

SECURITY COUNCIL HEARS DETAILS OF FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS IN EAST TIMOR

Today in Dili, the Independent Electoral Commission announced the final certified results for the election held on 30 August and declared that the criteria for a free and fair election had been met, Jean-Marie Guéhenno, Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations, told the Security Council this morning.

COUNCIL TERMINATES PROHIBITION ON ARMS SALES TO YUGOSLAVIA

Unanimously Adopts Resolution 1367

The Security Council this morning terminated the prohibitions preventing the sale or supply of arms and related material to the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. It did this by unanimously adopting resolution 1367.
