Following is the text of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s video message to the World LGBT [lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender] Conference for Criminal Justice Professionals, held in Amsterdam from 3 to 5 August:

On 3 August 2016, the Security Council Committee pursuant to resolutions 1267 (1999), 1989 (2011) and 2253 (2015) concerning ISIL (Da’esh), Al-Qaida and associated individuals, groups, undertakings and entities approved the addition of the entries specified below to its ISIL (Da’esh)Al-Qaida Sanctions List of individuals and entities subject to the assets freeze, travel ban and arms embargo set out in paragraph 2 of Security Council resolution 2253 (2015) adopted under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations.

The United Kingdom, followed by Australia and the Republic of Korea, lead the world in providing Government services and information through the Internet, according to a new survey released today by the United Nations showing the progress of nations in promoting e-government.

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today announced the appointment of Natalia Kanem of Panama as Assistant Secretary-General and Deputy Executive Director (Programme) of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).  She succeeds Kate Gilmore of Australia, to whom the Secretary-General is grateful for her dedicated service and commitment to the Organization.
