GENEVA, 15 April (UN Information Service) -- The Commission on Human Rights heard tonight from many non-governmental organizations (NGOs) urging greater protection of children before concluding its annual debate on the topic.

The Secretary-General arrived in Madrid from Geneva in the morning of Sunday, 11 April. That afternoon, he visited the city of Toledo, accompanied by Inocencio Arias, Ambassador of Spain to the United Nations. While in Toledo, the Secretary-General visited the Catholic cathedral, the mosque -- Cristo de la Luz, the synagogue -- Del Transito, and the Sephardic Museum.
GENEVA, 15 April (UN Information Service) -- The Commission on Human Rights this afternoon continued its debate on the rights of the child. Issues such as child prostitution, child pornography, trafficking in children, and child soldiers were raised.
