The Secretary-General is distressed about the attacks against United Nations offices in Afghanistan. He condemns the destruction of United Nations property in several locations in Afghanistan on 14 and 15 November.
As the General Assembly met this afternoon to consider the report of the Secretary-General on assistance in mine action, a number of speakers stressed the financial challenge posed by the number of landmines on the worlds surface.
