SECURITY COUNCIL CONDEMNS BOMB ATTACKS IN ISTANBUL,

UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTING RESOLUTION 1516 (2003)

The Security Council this afternoon condemned “in the strongest terms” the bomb attacks of 15 and 20 November 2003 in Istanbul, Turkey.

LANDMARK DECISION ADOPTED BY ESCAP TO EXTEND ASIAN HIGHWAY NETWORK

BANGKOK, 20 November (UN Information Services) -- Delegates from 32 members of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) have brought the vision of an efficient, reliable regional transport network to a reality by adopting the Intergovernmental Agreement on the Asian Highway Network.
