Members of the Security Council welcome Eritrea’s continued acceptance of the Boundary Commission decision.

Press Statement on Sudan by President of Security Council

Following is today’s statement to the press on the Sudan by Security Council President Abdallah Baali (Algeria):

The Security Council members held consultations on the situation in the Sudan.  They are deeply concerned at the serious degradation of the security and humanitarian situation in Darfur and at the repeated violations of the ceasefire.

UN DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC INFORMATION APPROVES 17 NON-GOVERNMENTAL

ORGANIZATIONS FOR ASSOCIATION, 47 ARE DISASSOCIATED

 

The United Nations Department of Public Information (DPI) approved the association of 17 more organizations, bringing to 1,523 the total number of non-governmental organizations (NGO) associated with DPI.

The Secretary-General flew overnight from Washington to Brussels, and met privately with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Tony Blair, for a half hour on his arrival Friday morning.
