On Thursday, 4 June, the United Nations Secretariat will sign a Cooperation Agreement with the International Chamber of Commerce’s World Chambers Federation during the Sixth World Chambers Conference, which is being held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 4 to 6 June.
On 27 May 2009, the Security Council Al-Qaida and Taliban Sanctions Committee approved the addition of the entry specified below to its Consolidated List of individuals and entities subject to the assets freeze, travel ban and arms embargo set out in paragraph 1 of Security Council resolution 1822 (2008) adopted under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations.
The International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers will be marked on 29 May at United Nations Headquarters in New York, as well as its peacekeeping missions and offices around the world, with a special focus on women peacekeepers, as the United Nations tries to move towards gender equity in its ranks.
