Activities of Secretary-General in Switzerland, 18-19 July

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, accompanied by Madam Ban Soon-taek, arrived in Switzerland from Finland on Monday evening, 18 July. In Geneva the following morning, the Secretary-General addressed the third Global Review of Aid for Trade at the World Trade Organization.

Activities of Secretary-General in Finland, 15-18 July

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon arrived in Finland on Friday, 15 July, travelling from New York, so that he could participate in a panel on sustainable development with Finnish President Tarja Halonen.

Security Council 1988 Committee Deletes 14 Entries from Its Sanctions List

On 15 July 2011, the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1988 (2011) approved the deletion of the 14 entries specified below from the Committee’s List (the 1988 List). The assets freeze, travel ban and arms embargo set out in paragraph 1 of Security Council resolution 1988 (2011) therefore no longer apply to the following individuals:

Security Council Committee Concerning Democratic Republic of Congo Updates List of Individuals and Entities Subject to Travel Ban, Assets Freeze

On 8 July 2011, the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1533 (2004) concerning the Democratic Republic of the Congo approved updates to the List of individuals and entities subject to the travel ban and assets freeze imposed by paragraphs 13 and 15 of resolution 1596 (2005), as renewed by paragraph 3 of resolution 1896 (2009) and paragraph 3 of resolution 1952 (2010).
