The World Food Programme (WFP) entered into a partnership with global e‑commerce company Alibaba to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 2 (zero hunger).  Alibaba Cloud will support the creation of a digital World Hunger Map to monitor global hunger and enhance the efficiency of WFP operations.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres was in Lisbon, Portugal, on 29 May, where he had been invited by Portuguese President, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, to address the State Council.

On Friday, 16 March, after arriving from Italy the previous evening, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres participated at an event in Lisbon marking the fiftieth anniversary of the Foundation of Lisbon’s Islamic Community.

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and humanitarian colleagues express concern about persistent forced displacement of indigenous people and farming communities in rural Colombia. Since 19 January, violence in Caceres has displaced at least 822 people; in Bajo Cauco murders have increased.
