Secretary-General Appoints Irena Vojáčková-Sollorano of Germany Deputy Special Representative and Resident Coordinator for Iraq

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres today announced the appointment of Irena Vojáčková-Sollorano of Germany as his new Deputy Special Representative for Iraq in the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) and Resident Coordinator.  Ms. Vojáčková-Sollorano will also serve as Humanitarian Coordinator.

Having now unanimously adopted a resolution endorsing the Secretary‑General’s call for a global ceasefire amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Security Council will continue to work throughout July to reinforce its people‑centred approach to multilateralism, its President for the month told reporters during a virtual press briefing today.
