NEW CHAIRMEN OF UNITED NATIONS SECURITY BODIES IN NOVEMBER
In accordance with the principle of alphabetical rotation, the following new Chairmen of United Nations security bodies will take office on 1 November:
SECURITY COUNCIL
Salim Mohammed Al'Khussaiby (Oman) will succeed Ibrahim A. Gambari (Nigeria) as President of the Security Council.
MILITARY STAFF COMMITTEE
Major-General Zhou Jiang (China) will succeed Lieutenant-General Wesley Kanne Clark (United States) as Chairman of the Military Staff Committee.
