On 4 May 2011, the Security Council Al-Qaida and Taliban Sanctions Committee approved the changes specified with strike-through and underline in the entry below to its Consolidated List of individuals and entities subject to the assets freeze, travel ban and arms embargo set out in paragraph 1 of Security Council resolution 1904 (2009) adopted under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations.

‘The Doers of Democracy’ Photo Exhibition Opens at United Nations 9 May

At this critical time for democratization efforts in several parts of the world, the United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF) will open an exhibition of photographs illustrating its work on Monday, 9 May, at 6 p.m. in the Main Gallery of the United Nations Visitors’ Lobby. The images in the exhibition illustrate selected democracy projects in the field, funded by UNDEF and implemented by civil society organizations in Africa, the Arab region, Asia, Latin America and Europe.
