The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs says more measles cases continue to be recorded in the Philippines, with nearly 23,000 so far, including 333 deaths officially reported, a 385 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2018.  More than half the cases involve children under the age of five.

UNAIDS is concerned that new HIV infections are not declining among people who inject drugs, despite a decline in new infections globally.  A new report also shows that 99 per cent of them live in countries lacking adequate needle and syringe programmes, drug-dependency treatment, and HIV testing and treatment.

A Security Council statement issued today welcomed the ongoing cooperation between Iraq and Kuwait in the search for Kuwaitis and third-country nationals missing since the 1990 invasion and encouraged the Government of Iraq to pursue its efforts to track down missing Kuwaiti property, including that country’s national archives.
