The Commission on Sustainable Development this morning heard the introduction of negotiating texts for consideration by its three drafting groups, which will be preparing draft decisions on such issues as freshwater management, small island developing States, industry, consumer protection and capacity-building.
Countries must assess the true value of water and put a price on it if they were going to ensure its efficient use, the Commission on Sustainable Development was told this afternoon as it concluded its discussion of the role of industry in freshwater management.
