United Nations Secretary‑General António Guterres today announced the appointment of Nada al‑Nashif of Jordan as Deputy High Commissioner for Human Rights.  She will succeed Kate Gilmore of Australia to whom the Secretary‑General and the High Commissioner for Human Rights are deeply grateful for her dedicated service to the United Nations human rights programme during the past four years.

United Nations Secretary‑General António Guterres today announced the appointment of Ilze Brands Kehris of Latvia as Assistant Secretary‑General for Human Rights and Head of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in New York.  She will succeed Andrew Gilmour of the United Kingdom to whom the Secretary‑General and the High Commissioner for Human Rights are deeply grateful for his long‑standing contribution to the work of the Organization.
