SECRETARY-GENERAL ‘HORRIFIED’ BY SATURDAY CAR BOMB ATTACK IN BALI

The following statement was issued yesterday, 13 October, by the Spokesman for Secretary-General Kofi Annan:


The Secretary-General was shocked and horrified to hear of last night’s car bomb attack in Bali, Indonesia, which killed at least 180 people and wounded scores of others.

I am very happy to see you all at the United Nations this evening.  For me, seeing friends from Macalester always feels a bit like seeing family -– and it’s even nicer when family members come to visit in one’s own house.
