Following is the text of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s video message to the sixty-sixth session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, in Incheon, today, 17 May:
United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon arrived in Ottawa, Canada, on Wednesday, 12 May, in the morning, for his first official visit to the country. The Secretary-General first met Michaëlle Jean, the Governor-General of Canada, at her residence, Government House. They discussed the situation in Haiti, the Millennium Development Goals, including maternal and child health, women’s empowerment, as well as the situation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
