AS UNDER-SECRETARY-GENERAL FOR INTERNAL OVERSIGHT SERVICES


Secretary-General Kofi Annan today proposed for approval by the General Assembly the appointment of Inga-Britt Ahlenius of Sweden as Under-Secretary-General for Internal Oversight Services for a five-year non-renewable term.

The Secretary-General today announced the appointment of Warren Sach of the United Kingdom as Assistant Secretary-General, Controller.  He has been serving as Director of the Programme Planning and Budget Division since May 1997.
