Mr. Graisse will replace Muhammad Shaaban. The Secretary-General is grateful for Mr. Shaaban’s dedicated service and strong commitment to the ideals of the Organization.

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today announced the appointment of Leila Zerrougui of Algeria as his Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict. Ms. Zerrougui will replace Radhika Coomaraswamy, to whom the Secretary-General is grateful for her dedicated service to the United Nations and her commitment to promote and protect the rights of all children affected by armed conflict.

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has appointed former United Kingdom Prime Minister Gordon Brown to the position of United Nations Special Envoy for Global Education.
