The Secretary-General condemns the terrorist attack in Dhaka, Bangladesh, over 1 and 2 July. He expresses his deepest sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims and to the Government and people of Bangladesh. He wishes a speedy recovery to those injured.
The members of the Security Council strongly condemned the heinous and cowardly terrorist attack perpetrated in the city of Dhaka, Bangladesh, on 1 July 2016, which resulted in more than 20 Bangladeshi nationals and foreigners, including development workers, killed and many injured, for which ISIL (Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant/Da’esh) has claimed responsibility.
