Maged Abdelfattah Abdelaziz, the new Permanent Observer for the League of Arab States at the United Nations, presented his letter of appointment to UN Secretary-General António Guterres today.

A national of Egypt, Mr. Abdelaziz was the United Nations Special Adviser on Africa, having previously been his country’s Permanent Representative to the Organization from 2005 to 2012.

The new Permanent Representative of Belarus to the United Nations, Valentin Rybakov, presented his credentials to UN Secretary-General António Guterres today.

In a continuing effort to encourage wider participation in the multilateral treaty framework, United Nations Headquarters will host the annual Treaty Event from 19 to 22 September.
