Informal Consultations of Security Council Committee Established Pursuant to Resolution 2048 (2012) – 12 September 2017

On 12 September 2017, the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 2048 (2012) concerning Guinea-Bissau held informal consultations to consider the Secretary-General’s report on progress made with regards to stabilization and restoration of constitutional order in Guinea-Bissau, submitted pursuant paragraph 19 of resolution 2267 (2016).

Secretary-General, Heads of United Nations Rome Agencies, Appoint Valerie Guarnieri of United States Assistant Executive Director, World Food Programme

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Director-General José Graziano da Silva and World Food Programme (WFP) Executive Director David Beasley announced today their appointment of Valerie Guarnieri of the United States as Assistant Executive Director, Operations Services, of the WFP, at the Assistant Secretary-General level.

On Anne Frank Diary Anniversary, Students to Take Part in Interactive Holocaust Education Programme, Learn about Plight of Today’s Refugees, Migrants

To mark the seventieth anniversary of the publication of Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl, the United Nations Department of Public Information, in partnership with New York’s Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect and Facing History and Ourselves, will host an interactive educational programme for more than 500 high school students on Thursday, 9 November, at New York Headquarters.
