United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres departed New York on Wednesday evening, 9 October, and arrived in Copenhagen early on Thursday morning, 10 October.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres welcomes today’s decision by the General Assembly to approve Fatoumata Ndiaye of Senegal as Under-Secretary-General for Internal Oversight Services, Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS) for a five-year non-renewable term.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has appointed Philippe Poinsot of France as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Côte d’Ivoire, with the host Government’s approval.

Amid rising antisemitism and violent extremism worldwide, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), United Nations Special Rapporteur on freedom of religion or belief and the United Nations Department of Global Communications will organize a joint event on 18 October to call on Member States and all stakeholders to invest in and strengthen education to tackle and prevent antisemitism.
