On the sidelines of the busy seventy‑fourth General Debate at United Nations Headquarters, 32 Member States undertook 48 treaty actions in an annual four‑day event that ended on 27 September.
The First Committee (Disarmament and International Security) elected Sacha Sergio Llorentty Solíz (Bolivia) as Chair on 4 June. (See Press Release GA/12149.)

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has appointed Ola Almgren of Sweden as the UN Resident Coordinator in Myanmar, with the host Government’s approval. Mr. Almgren will also serve as UN Humanitarian Coordinator.
