ANNUAL MEETING OF CODEX ALIMENTARIUS COMMISSION TO BE HELD


AT FAO HEADQUARTERS IN ROME, 4 – 9 July 2005


ROME, 29 June (FAO) -- The Codex Executive Committee will meet from 30 June to 2 July to advise the Codex Alimentarius Commission on selected issues, and the Commission meeting will take place from 4-9 July at the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) headquarters in Rome.

MONTREAL, 29 June (UNEP) -– The 189-member Governments of the Montreal Protocol on Substances That Deplete the Ozone Layer will decide this week on how best to manage the phase-out of methyl bromide, an effective fumigant and pesticide for strawberries, flowers and other high-value crops that also damages the Earth’s protective ozone shield.
