FIFTH COMMITTEE ALLOCATES $242 MILLION TO PEACE-KEEPING MISSIONS IN FORMER YUGOSLAVIA FOR FIRST HALF OF 1997
19961206The General Assembly would appropriate and apportion almost $242 million gross to maintain three peace-keeping missions in the former Yugoslavia for the first half of 1997, if it adopts three draft resolutions approved without a vote this morning by its Fifth Committee (Administrative and Budgetary).

FIFTH COMMITTEE HEARS CALL FOR MECHANISM TO RECOVER STOLEN UN FUNDS
19961114The Secretary-General should be authorized to create a mechanism, in cooperation with Member States, to retrieve more than $3 million stolen from the United Nations through fraud in 1994-1995 or to confiscate properties bought with that money, the Fifth Committee (Administrative and Budgetary) was told this afternoon.
