The Secretary-General has also recently announced a strengthened coordination and support mechanism in the epicentre of the Ebola outbreak in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, led by David Gressly of the United States of America as United Nations Emergency Ebola Response Coordinator.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres announced today the appointment of Yacoub el Hillo of Sudan as his Deputy Special Representative in Libya, where he will also serve as United Nations Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has appointed Catherine Pollard of Guyana as the next Under-Secretary-General for Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance.  She will succeed Jan Beagle of New Zealand to whom the Secretary-General is deeply grateful for her extraordinary work in management reform in the United Nations system and 40 years of dedicated service to the Organization.
