To assist 2.3 million people in Mali, the United Nations and its humanitarian partners today launched the 2019 Humanitarian Response Plan requesting $296 million. On 21 January, the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 2127 (2013) concerning the Central African Republic met, via videoconference in Bangui, with a delegation of the Government of the Central African Republic led by the Minister of Defence.
The United Nations and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent are carrying out their largest-ever convoy today, with the aim of providing humanitarian assistance to more than 40,000 displaced people in Syria’s remote Rukban makeshift settlement. The operation is expected to last about one week.
