United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres today announced the appointment of Colin Stewart of Canada as his new Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP).

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres today announced the appointment of Patrick Gauchat of Switzerland as Head of Mission and Chief of Staff of the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization (UNTSO).  He succeeds Kristin Lund of Norway to whom the Secretary-General is grateful for her dedicated service.  The Secretary-General also thanks Alan Doyle for serving as Acting Head of Mission of UNTSO.

On 25 September, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres appointed Damien Mama of Benin as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Burundi, with the host Government’s approval.

On 25 September, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres appointed Alejandro Alvarez of Argentina as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Algeria, with the host Government’s approval.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, following consultations with Member States and the Executive Board of the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women (UN-Women), today announced the appointment of Sima Sami Bahous of Jordan as Executive Director of UN-Women.
