BUNIA, 8 February (OCHA) -- Humanitarian organizations have begun the delivery of much-needed emergency assistance to the survivors of an attack on Tché, District of Ituri.  Over 10,000 people are now gathered in the area, seeking protection from further attacks by FNI militia.

The Secretary-General is concerned that the transfer of power that has taken place in Togo following the death of President Eyadema has not been done in full respect of the provisions of the Constitution.


The Secretary-General re-emphasizes the need for constitutionality and respect for the rule of law.
