On 6 February, at its second formal meeting, the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 2127 (2013) concerning the Central African Republic held an exchange of views on the implementation of the arms embargo imposed pursuant to paragraph 54 of the resolution with the representatives to the United Nations of the Central African Republic and its neighbouring States Cameroon, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Republic of the Congo, South Sudan and Sudan.

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon announced today the appointment of Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed of Mauritania as his new Deputy Special Representative and Deputy Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), where he will also serve as Resident Coordinator and Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
