New Permanent Representative of Gabon Presents Credentials

The new Permanent Representative of Gabon to the United Nations, Ghislain Ondias Okouma, presented his credentials to UN Secretary-General António Guterres today.
Prior to his appointment, he served as Special Adviser to the President of Gabon since 2018, and head of that country’s diplomacy department since 2023. Overall, he has advised the President of Gabon on diplomacy since 2012.
Also, since 2015, he worked as a Lecturer at the International University of Libreville in Gabon, where he taught international relations.
Between 2008 and 2011, he worked as an Associate Press Officer at the Department of Public Information at the United Nations in New York. Prior to that, in 2007, he worked as an Associate Information Officer, also in the Department of Public Information.
Mr. Ondias Okouma has a doctorate in public law from the University of Montpellier in France where he also received a diploma of advanced studies in public international law. He is a graduate of Omar Bongo-Gabon University in Gabon, where he completed Master and Bachelor of Arts degrees in public law.
