Secretary-General Expresses Concern over Shelling in Iraq’s Kurdistan Region

The following statement was issued today by the Spokesperson for UN Secretary-General António Guterres:

The Secretary-General is following with concern the reported shelling of the Kurdistan region of Iraq, including in civilian areas.  He calls for an immediate de-escalation and urges respect for Iraq’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and the principle of good‑neighbourly relations.
