New Permanent Representative of Georgia Presents Credentials

The new Permanent Representative of Georgia to the United Nations, David Bakradze, presented his credentials to UN Secretary-General António Guterres today.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Bakradze served as his country’s Ambassador to the United States, from 2016 to 2022.  He was the State Minister of Georgia for Euro-Atlantic Integration from 2014 to 2016, and Ambassador to Greece and to Serbia between 2012 and 2014.  From 2008 to 2012, he was Senior Counsellor and Chargé d’Affaires in Finland.

He also served as Head of First European Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2005 to 2008; Counsellor and Deputy Chief of his country’s Mission to the United Nations between 2002 and 2005; Adviser in the National Security Council of Georgia covering Human Rights, Information and Analysis, Law Enforcement Institutions from 1997 to 2002; and as a staff member in the press office for the Office of the President of Georgia from 1996 to 1997.

He holds a degree in international economic relations and international law from Tbilisi State University in Georgia.
