New Permanent Representative of Eswatini Presents Credentials

The new Permanent Representative of Eswatini to the United Nations, Thamie Dlamini, presented his credentials to UN Secretary-General António Guterres today.

Before his appointment, Mr. Dlamini served as Eswatini’s Ambassador to China, from 2014 to 2022.  Between 2008 and 2014, he was First Secretary at its embassy in Kuwait, and from 2007 to 2008 the Trade Attaché to the United Kingdom.

He also served at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation from 2005 to 2007 as Assistant Socio-Political Analyst, and from 2002 to 2005 as Assistant Secretary Administration.

Born in 1980, Mr. Dlamini earned his Bachelor of Arts in public administration and political science from the University of Eswatini.
