Secretary-General Condemns Terrorist Attack on India-Pakistan Border

The following statement was issued by the spokesman for UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today:

The Secretary-General condemns in the strongest terms the terrorist attack that took place yesterday on the Pakistani side of the Wagah border crossing with India.  He expresses his condolences to the families of those killed in the attack and to the people and Government of Pakistan and wishes those wounded a quick recovery.

Such terrorist acts are not justifiable under any circumstances.  The Secretary-General urges the Pakistani authorities to bring those responsible to justice.
