New Permanent Representative of Andorra Presents Credentials

The new Permanent Representative of Andorra, Narcis Casal de Fonsdeviela, presented his credentials today to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.


Prior to assuming his current position, Mr. Casal de Fonsdeviela was the Ambassador and Chargé d’Affaires of his country to the United States.


An attorney, he practised civil and public law from 1989 to 2004.  During that period, he also served terms as Deputy Secretary and Member of Parliament of Andorra, as well as Legal Adviser and Board Member of the country’s Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of its Public Broadcast Corporation.


Mr. Casal de Fonsdeviela graduated from the University of Barcelona, Spain, with a degree in Law.  He studied Public Administration and Policy from the same country’s University of Madrid.


He has a master’s degree in international relations from the Spanish Diplomatic School and another in East-West psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies in the United States.  He received his diplôme d’études approfondies in law and public history from the University of Paris II (Sorbonne), in France.


Born in 1957, Mr. Casal de Fonsdeviela is not married.
