Following is the translation of the toast proposed by Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali at the dinner hosted by President Jean-Bertrand Aristide on Saturday, 14 October, in Port-au-Prince:

I should, in particular, like to thank you, Mr. President, for the warmth of your welcome and the quality of your hospitality, which my wife and I particularly appreciate.

The Security Council this afternoon responding to the Secretary-General's recent report on the United Nations Assistance Mission for Rwanda (UNAMIR) welcomed progress made in the past two months by the Government of Rwanda in the national reconciliation process, including the integration of more than 2,000 former Rwandese Government Forces (RGF) troops into the Rwanda Patriotic Army (RPA).

The following statement was originally issued in Spanish yesterday, 16 October, by the United Nations moderator of the peace negotiations between the Government of Guatemala and the Unidad Revolucionaria Nacional Guatemalteca (URNG):

Another round of negotiations between the Government of Guatemala and the URNG ended on Saturday, 14 October, in the city of Querétaro Mexico, on the item "Socio-economic aspects and agrarian situation". This round of negotiations was devoted to the sub-item "State management in socio-economic development".
