TENTATIVE SCHEDULE OF MEETINGS OF UNITED NATIONS BODIES IN APRIL

19960329 The following is a tentative list of United Nations meetings scheduled to be held beginning in April including major meetings of intergovernmental organizations related to the United Nations:

Meetings continued from previous month:

The United Nations Secretariat today signed a key cooperation agreement with the International Chamber of Commerce’s World Chambers Federation at the sixth World Chambers Congress, which began this morning in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and ends on 6 June.

The Independent Audit Advisory Committee of the United Nations held its seventh session in New York from 30 June to 2 July 2009. The session was presided over by the Chairman, David M. Walker.

The United Nations Board of Auditors, the independent external auditors of the United Nations and its funds and programmes, held its sixty-third regular session during the period 9 to 10 July 2009 at United Nations Headquarters in New York. The main purpose of the meeting was to review and approve the audit reports of the Board to be presented to the General Assembly and other legislative/governing bodies.

On 5 August, more than 500 students will gather at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland to participate in the first annual Global Model United Nations (GMUN) conference, organized by the United Nations Department of Public Information.

The Independent Audit Advisory Committee of the United Nations (IAAC) held its eighth session from 2 to 4 December 2009. The session, which was held at the United Nations Office at Geneva, was presided over by the Chairman, David M. Walker, with all the members of the IAAC, namely, Vadim V. Dubinkin, Vijayendra N. Kaul (Vice-Chairman), John F.S. Muwanga and Adrian P. Strachan, in attendance.
